Highlights of Japan trip (Nikko)

On the 3rd day of our Japan trip we went to Nikko, about an hour drive from Toyko city. It was a small town and that kept it's old fashion ways, so it was a very different experience from the hustle and bustle of HK and Toyko. We had NO idea that it would be snowing there, so I was not really dressed for it. As soon as we got off the bus, I ran and jumped into the snow and didn't realise it would be so fluffy so my feet sank right though and thus they were frozen for the rest of the day T_T But it was my first time seeing real snow (fake snow at the Snowy Mountains was just... crap) so I didn't mind :)

First stop was Nikko Toshugo Shrine, famous for its carvings of the 'hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil' monkeys (which I just realised I took no photos of... sigh)

Next stop was to visit Kegon Falls. We took the Irohazaka Winding Road allllll the way up the mountain. It was pretty cool because every time the bus turned, we would get a breath taking view of the valleys below us which were covered in snow. On the way to the Kegon Falls we stopped at Lake Chuzenji for photos. It was so beautiful.

Kegon Falls. Definitely not as pretty as the scenery leading up to it, but apparently we were lucky to even see it as usually there would be fog around the whole thing...
